Surviving Moving Day on July 1
1 min read · Gestion Condo

In Québec, a large share of leases end on June 30. Book movers or a truck several weeks ahead, and confirm key handover time with your new property manager.
Also plan your change of address, the transfer of internet and Hydro-Québec service, and the elevator if your building requires a booking. Before leaving, clean the unit and document its condition with photos.
One month before
Confirm the truck or moving-company booking and payment terms. Check access, elevator dimensions and reservation rules in both buildings. Begin updating your address with relevant organizations and service providers.
One week before
Pack non-essential items and label boxes by room. Keep medication, documents, chargers and overnight essentials separate. Confirm key handover times and prepare for possible access delays.
Moving day
Protect floors and keep exits clear. Photograph the old and new homes and report issues promptly. Respect common spaces and booked time slots so other residents can move safely.
After settling in
Test supplied appliances, locate safety instructions and check transferred services. Complete address updates and keep the manager’s contact details and lease documents easy to find.
General information: rules and circumstances may vary. Check official sources or consult a professional about your situation.
